Brassic Calls it a Day with Tarantino-Inspired Finale
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues causing chaos in a countryside town in Lancashire. One could anticipate the finale to be a greatest hits victory lap of alcohol, substances, and playful theft. However, the atmosphere turns much more somber as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the crew barricade themselves in a bar with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a climactic 50th episode apparently inspired by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
The Show Dragons' Den
8pm on BBC One
Ballet dancers leap into the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey pitch their range of inclusive dancewear – and send Peter Jones into a spin. Next, an ophthalmologist turned innovator has a smart device for misplaced tape edges.
All Creatures Great and Small
9pm on Channel 5
The veterinary adventures are all fine, but this excellent historical series proves its worth with emotional character development. The Drama The Hack
9pm on ITV1
The journey has been lengthy. But the penultimate episode of this at first slow-moving but eventually gripping phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the actions of the News of the World that the other media outlets simply are forced to acknowledge. Things are also looking up for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm on BBC Three
Prepare for enthusiastic gestures: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the drag performers to perform vocally, dance, and act and ultimately slay as they get ready for the show. And who better to guest judge than West End stage legend Mazz Murray, together with Graham Norton, Michelle Visage and RuPaul.
The Series The Iris Affair
9pm on Sky Atlantic
Anyone afraid of insects will want to skip ahead as the sixth episode starts, before something of a Mexican (or rather Sardinian) standoff occurs, when Cameron compels Iris to exchange her journal for the hostaged Joy – else she’ll be “shot repeatedly” from Meski’s menacing drone … What escape plan can they devise?
