British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world offered sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
