While Michel Illouz slowly made his way through the masses beneath the Mediterranean pines and tropical trees at the burial ground in Ra'anana, a community located approximately 20 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, he thanked people to countless visitors as feasible.

Earlier he provided an welcoming message to the Israeli public to accompany his loved ones in honoring the memory of his young adult son, Guy, whose physical form had been returned from Gaza on Monday.

Massive Turnout

Countless individuals heeded the request. They lined the streets, processed behind the coffin transport carrying his remains, and gathered at the burial site in such substantial amounts that the initial arrangement to stage the service indoors had to be canceled.

As an alternative, the gathering was organized in the open air, accompanied by the melody of avian melodies.

This signified the initial burial ceremony since the remaining 20 living hostages were returned from Gaza, accompanied by seven bodies. Additional 21 of the dead prisoners continue to be lost, but at minimum this loved ones now had a specific place to mourn and commemorate their son, per friends.

Guy Illouz, a artist and recording specialist, had been targeted in his posterior at the Nova musical gathering during the Hamas assault on October 7, 2023. He spoke to his son. "My Guy-shuk," he uttered, using a term of endearment, "it's difficult for me to envision the future without you. They took you from me – they killed you – they captured my essence and stole my identity and destroyed my spirit and emotional core."

"I feel empty inside since that meaningless attack by those vicious attackers when they apprehended you and instructed you to turn around, and then just discharged two gratuitous rounds into your posterior."

Ultimate Parting

"Thus I stood this morning, heading toward Abu Kabir identification center to identify you and part ways. They took off the covering, and the first thing I observed was that characteristic grin, that optimism, that peaceful presence and grace that so exemplified you."

"I touched you, tried to smell you, gently felt each part in your body. I observed you, I was alone with you, and yes, I felt with complete conviction that it was you. Yes, I know, Guy-shuk, that you've rejoined our family. You've rejoined your loved ones' arms, to all your friends, and to the millions of citizens whose feelings your story touched."

Family Strength

During the initial segment of the ceremony, Illouz had focused entirely on consoling his smaller offspring. He gently touched the locks of his girls, embraced his boy, showed affection and maintained composure for them. But then his emotions surfaced.

"I'll miss so much journeying together through this land, sensing your presence, enjoying your artistic creations, sitting in the hills and activating the stove to make coffee the way only you mastered – 'Father, do you see the coffee foam? You have to boil it gently, let the bubbles form, then heat it once more. Mix the beverage with circular motions' – and then your expression while tasting the beverage and your delight in every individual sip."

"Before I left Abu Kabir today, I kept my promise. I gazed upon you, absorbed your presence one final moment, and yes, I planted a kiss on the brow. I was able to see your handsomeness even in the condition in which you came back."
