David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
