Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest Far Cry title that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing chaos and mayhem with similar enthusiasm, all while presenting engaging, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two visionaries whose work have represented all of those qualities.
Show Details
Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a fresh setting and group of personalities in every instalment.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.
“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their constant trust and backing.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a take of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual bold, ambitious style to the audience.”
A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
