I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
