Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
