Music icon Susan Boyle has revealed she was "deeply moving" to learn that Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet listed her as one of his greatest Britons.
The US actor cited the Scottish singer alongside a select group of icons such as racing legend Lewis Hamilton, fashion and football power couple David and Victoria Beckham, and music artist Fakemink.
"She dreamt bigger than all of us," he said, reflecting on her 2009 Britain's Got Talent show-stopping rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables. "It moved everyone who saw it."
In response, Boyle said she was "immensely grateful," continuing: "Those early days were quite something, and to know that performance resonated to you all these years on truly humbles me."
Boyle added: "We all start somewhere, with a dream and a bit of hope, don't we? We should all dream big!
"I send you my best wishes as you follow your aspirations. Thank you for your kindness and for holding that time in such esteem. With love, Susan."
A Promotion with Purpose
Chalamet's remarks came while he was talking about his new film Marty Supreme. The film's promotional campaign has involved him gifting specially designed coats to cultural and sporting figures he judges to be exceptional talents.
People who have received the jackets have so far included singer Frank Ocean, former NFL player Tom Brady, and football prodigy Lamine Yamal.
A Surprising Yet Inspired Pick
Boyle's selection was seen by many as an unexpected pick when the Oscar nominee was asked which British personalities he would deem worthy.
It is worth pointing out that Chalamet was just 13 when Boyle shot to fame after astonishing viewers and judges with her performance for Britain's Got Talent, a clip which quickly went viral.
"I recall it vividly," the actor noted. "It coincided with the dawn of viral video, you know."
