It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the opportunity.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
